Vintage Glass Bottle Two

Vintage Glass

During my childhood in Marquette, Michigan, one of my favorite hobbies was collecting old bottles. With my brother and various friends, we would gather our supplies (garden shovels and spades, gloves, plastic pales and old pillow cases), and begin the adventure to a local hillside behind what was referred to as the ‘Haunted House’. There we would excavate until we grew tired, carefully extracting from the soil whatever treasures we could uncover.

Many decades later, I’ve retained only a fraction of the collection which I’d amassed during my youth. Presented here with enhancements through the use of Adobe Photoshop, three round bottom bottles highlight a beauty in their imperfections, with air bubbles, thick and uneven glass, and a wonderful hue of blues and greens.

If interested, a variety of print types (canvas, framed, acrylic, metal, wood and art prints) are available from this collection at my gallery at Fine Art America. Thanks for looking.
