These morning photographs were taken in the Smoky Mountains along the new section of the Foothills Parkway, between Wears Valley and Townsend, Tennessee. In lieu of an overcast sunrise, I was pleased to capture these scenic landscape images.

Next, I continued west up the old section of the Foothills Parkway (now open, following construction), and visited both Look Rock & Look Rock Tower. I’ll post about that in the coming days, so stay tuned…

I was going to book an Airbnb in Townsend, but found one I liked better near Gatlinburg. I prefer what they call “the quite side”.
Sounds good, dear Sherry. Gatlinburg is a very popular spot for tourists, with many things to see and do, as well as being close to several scenic locations. It’s also an easy drive along Little River to the Cades Cove area. I know that you’re an excellent travel planner, and please feel free to email me anytime if you’d like to ‘talk shop’ about hiking, conditions, etc.. 🌞
