This black and white photograph was taken in the attic of a log cabin built in the 1830’s – known as the Carter Shields Cabin, located at Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. I ascended a narrow stairwell of creaking boards, to capture this aesthetic scene of sun streaming through a window.
