Toad In Rock

While hiking recently at Rock Island State Park in Tennessee, I was traversing uneven terrain along the river when I spotted this spotted toad perched in a pocket of a rock. Now, this photograph is available in my gallery at Pixels. Come see!

  4. It looks like a leopard frog. It’s a little surprising to see it in a rock. Was the a stream nearby? We used to have a lot of leopard frogs, but the bullfrogs have taken over and ate them all.

    1. Yes, a river was approx. 15′ away. I assumed it was a toad based on the size, but don’t really know. Happily, it sat still long enough for a photograph.
