Three Bears At Cades Cove, TN

During a recent visit to Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, I was photographing an old wooden-homestead, when people nearby began to gather along the tree-line.

I walked in that direction to observe three bears (a mother with two cubs) climbing around in a tree. Here are a few pictures taken during their descent:

It really was – I was quite impressed at how well the bears could climb, and their balance demonstrated in so doing!

Thanks, Felipe. They were agile climbers, indeed – more so than I had imagined!

I used to think they only looked that nimble, ‘cause of their fur rippling etc, but no way something that big and heavy could move that fast and high if they weren’t super agile, lol! And you have the video to prove it! 😊
