Poem: Water Always Wins

Reflecting to reconcile the passage of time
An artful adaptation before young eyes
I set aside distractions of the digital world
Choosing instead to carry a wooden walking stick and canteen
Traversing what were once elevated peaks
Dense rock now carved into gorges
The jagged, sharp edges refined and smooth underfoot
Warmed in the flow of nature
Water always wins.
