Thunderhead Prong

This photograph was taken in the Tremont section of the Smoky Mountains, in Tennessee, soon after the rain began to pour.

I was in the middle of the river, standing atop a large, moss-covered rock at the time, though safely managed to traverse the waterway, seeking shelter under an old bridge.

If you’ve never visited the area, it’s like a temperate rainforest, in that you’ll encounter moss throughout the year – so, watch your step!
