Mountain Pines

This photograph was taken in Tennessee on Mount LeConte and shows damage to trees caused by the Balsam Woolly Adelgid, an insect which has killed 90% of mature fir trees in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, since 1962. If interested, you can visit my gallery to select one of many prints available for your home, office, business lobby, cafeteria, hospital…really, anywhere. Thanks!

A very coherent picture with a sad background. Thank God this beetle doesn’t play a major role in Europe. We have another pest that does just as much damage, that’s the bark beetle.

Yes, it is sad, so many trees destroyed. The beetles, here & there, should eat rocks, instead of wood, haha. Thanks for your visit and comments, my dear friend! 🤗

Looks scenic and beautiful Phil. The dark blue sky and the lush green trees are a shark contrast and gives a beautiful shot.
