Black and White Layers

Rock and Water

This black and white photograph of layered rocks was taken at the Rock Island State Park, on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. The Caney Fork (river, seen at bottom) has carved an expansive gorge, with many points of geological interest – case in point.
