Water Shots

These photographs include Lost Creek Falls, Big Laurel Creek and Rylander Cascades. Each is located on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee, atop the states largest network of underground caves. Though foliage conceals an upper aspect of Lost Creek Falls, it stands 50-feel tall and immediately vanishes into an underground sink, never to be seen again. Check it out!

      1. So cool! I wonder what the acoustics are like in the caves. 🎶🎵

  2. And then the water disappears? Amazing.

    1. ✅ There’s a cave located 250-feet away, into which the water travels underground. It’s actually a network of caves in which spelunkers have mapped 7 miles of underground trails. It’s the largest cavern system in the state of Tennessee, with only 5 entrances – one of which is here, known as Lost Creek Cave.

  3. Prachtige fotoreeks met die watervallen! Gewoon TOP!

  4. Wow! Stunning! Do locals visit this area to cool off on a hot summer’s day! Or are these amazing places well hidden and difficult to access?

    1. Hello, Louise. Not too much is these locations. Lost Creek Falls is away from populated areas, so the draw is limited. Big Laurel Creek sees some hikers and other people camping along the trail nearby. Generally, though – at other more easily accessed areas – many waterfalls with plunge pools are very popular spots to cool off in the summer. Hence, weekends can get quite busy. Thanks for visiting, and have a nice day! 🙂
