Poem for a Friend

Among the many, there are those few, special people, individuals through which an appreciation flourishes, inspiration overwhelms and beauty is exemplified.

So, it is with Annabel – a professional dancer & choreographer, talented poetess, lovely lady and dear friend. Having discussed her visit to a desert temple known as the Mogao Caves, I wrote this poem…

Like an oasis in the desert, you're a wellspring of overflowing beauty who makes flowers blossom where there is no water, and shadows long for the dawn of day.

Rising in the east, you are a burgeoning vision of loveliness, warming days, pathways and the hearts of those who can recognize an angel.

As a woman who enlivens each trail you traverse, may your days be many, your reach expansive, and your soul replete with blessings befitting your resplendent nature.
