Looking Glass

I like to look at old glass. Glass with imperfections – air bubbles, scratches, chips and other distortions. Old bottles with character, asymmetrical edges and askew reflections. And, especially glass with hues of turquoise or aquamarine.

I also think that you might enjoy looking at old glass…in a frame on a wall in your home or office. Whether the dining room, kitchen, foyer or hallway spaces, this textural macro photography of old glass will stand out and draw you in for a closer look.

  2. This post makes me think of the beautiful stained glass of old European cathedrals which was created to tell the stories of the Bible and the life of Christ to the congregants who could not read. This ancient glass, I imagine, had the bubbles, distortions and imperfections that you speak of yet was such a powerful tool of Faith. Thank you for your post, Phil.
