Poem for a Friend

This poem was written for a beautiful woman, talented writer and dear friend hailing from Lisbon, Portugal – Carla Milho. She’s a frequent source of inspiration, in my heart and often on my mind…

She came to me
One autumn eve
On the winds of a dream, with a kiss

Sultry green eyes
And ruby lips
Beating hearts, drumming songs shared in bliss

As morning dawned
Night slipped away
All alone, missing her, wanting more

Now, when I hear
The sound of wings
Angelic – she’s the one I long for
