Having read “How my 70+year-old parents held me through an injury!“, by my friend Mukti Masih, a talented and very beautiful Poetess from India – wherein she conveys gratitude to her family during recovery, after a significant injury – I was inspired to write this poem in response…

A strong family
Both parents as guides
Sharing their deep love
Through God, making strides

    Oh, my! This is so relatable! The poem aptly describes my feelings towards my parents. And just like Mukti Masih, my parents were the first to truly take care of me as a person with a disability. A 50-year-old daughter is being taken care of by her 70+ year-old parents! That’s me! Thank you for the lovely poem and for sharing the story of Mukti, Phil!
