Storm on the Horizon

After enjoying an elevated view of blue skies and the Smoky Mountains from the Foothills Parkway, I proceeded down the mountain approx. 20 miles to Cades Cove for a scenic drive, where there’s an 11-mile loop around the valley. Once there, it was only a few miles before the weather turned sour, bringing rain which lasted 5 minutes. However, after driving only a few more miles, the area once again had blue skies over head (see below). Go figure.

    Phil! These scenes are marvelous! I can feel the power of an impending storm and smell the hint of rain from those threatening clouds! The brilliant blue sky and luscious grass in the other photo are like an enchanted world! Sooo beautiful!!
