This poem was written for a dear friend and beautiful lady hailing from Lisbon, Portugal – Carla Milho. Please visit her site to enjoy her writings. Thank you!
Steel drums, wooden planks
Wrapped with lines, taught to sail
O’er waves, crashing seas
Forward bound, without fail
Lisbon, Portugal
To the port she resides
That two hearts may traverse
Burgeoning, moonlit tides
