Fall Creek Falls

Standing 256-feet, Fall Creek Falls is the tallest waterfall in Tennessee, and, located in Spencer, a very popular tourist destination. I recently had the opportunity to visit the park after a heavy rainfall, and captured these scenes:

Here’s a video I shot with my iPhone from the base of the falls. With so much falling water, the wind and mist were substantial…

Thanks for visiting & enjoy the great outdoors!

  3. Great shots and what a lovely place. And thanks for sharing the video. There were no people there, is that normal?

    1. Thanks so much, dear Susan. What’s funny is that there were many people along the trail down into the gorge, but, because the waterfall was casting such strong winds and lots of heavy mist into the air, almost everyone kept back around the corner to stay dry. I didn’t mind getting soaked, so I ventured ahead. πŸ™‚

      1. I would have ventured right along with you! We are used to back country camping, and that can be in any kind of weather. I just love being outside.

        1. Right on, Susan – I agree! And, really, it seems silly to visit the park, hike all the way down into the gorge, and then not get a close look at the waterfall for fear of getting wet with mist?! lol Have a nice weekend! πŸ™‚

    1. It’s an amazing place to visit, for sure, and with impressive views at different points. A powerful rainstorm proceeded my visit, so the water runoff was still in force. As such, the mist was like rain, and I got soaked near the plunge pool. I’m glad you like it, my dear friend Robin ~ thank you! πŸ’

  5. I just want to feel the spray of light waters from the falls. Beautiful!

    1. It’s pleasant near the falls, with a mist in the air. I’m often surprised at how much wind can be generated by waterfalls, and on this visit it was substantial. Have a nice day, Hazel πŸ™‚

      1. Thank you, Phil. My Monday is almost over here. Enjoy the rest of your day there.

        1. It seems I’m always behind, and will have to try and catch up with you tomorrow, lol. πŸ•°οΈ Thanks Hazel πŸ˜‰
