Scene From a Chairlift

A majestic mountain range with steep rocky faces can be seen in the background. In the foreground, a cable tram system stands amidst lush greenery, providing a stark contrast to the rugged landscape.

I took this photograph at Snowbird, located outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, while riding a chairlift – known as the ‘Peruvian Express’ – down the mountain.

The ski resort operates two trams. Up the way up to the top of the mountain, which has an elevation of 11,000 feet, I used my iPhone to photograph the other tram (see below), on its way back to the base.

Indeed, the enormity of these mountains weighs on the scale of proportion, surrounded by pointed peaks, and near vertical ascents, most of which are even too steep for trees. I’d love for you to ride this chairlift with me, going up and down the mountain, to take in the expansive, stunning views. Hopefully, the heavy weather in your neck of the woods relinquishes, bringing sunshine back to both gardens and dragons, alike.
