Wall of Water

Ocoee Dam

Completed in late December 1911, the Ocoee Dam #1 is located in Polk County in southern Tennessee. It stands 135-feet tall and was the first plant to supply hydroelectric power to Chattanooga. It also forms Parksville Lake, a popular beach and boating area with 109 miles of shoreline.

I took this photograph yesterday, following heavy rainfall associated with hurricane “Ida”.

    1. Thank you so much, dear Kym ~ I thought so, too. The scale of the dam at 135-feet with the 1/2 flooded tree in the foreground made for a nice composition. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend 😎

    1. I had to walk alongside a gated fence for a distance, in order to get a better view for this photograph. The 1/2 submerged trees at the base really make the shot.
