If you look closely, you’ll see that this long exposure photography captures part of Spruce Flats Falls – located in the Tremont section of the Smoky Mountains, in Tennessee – flowing behind stationary ice.
In fact, as temperatures began to rise through morning, I had the opportunity to see a large chunk of ice fall away. It was cool, though apparently not cool enough to remain attached.
