Having read “Words“, written by a dear friend, the lovely and talented Floridian Poetess, Holly Hunter – wherein her pen drafts deep beauty for the moon to marvel – I was inspired to write this poem in response…
From the ocean, rose a wave
Riding winds of evermore
As full moonlight turned the tide
Spreading silk soft on the shore
She came with a sheen of salt
Sent my heart to skip a beat
Long red hair and hazel eyes
Sexy scales and flipper feet
Beautiful mermaid, Holly
On the sand, my dreams came true
There’s simply no place better
Then our midnight rendezvous

I wrote another poem about a mermaid named Holly in 2023, which you might enjoy reading. And, I encourage you to visit Holly’s web site at the House of Heart, where you may peruse her wonderful poetry and prose. Thank you!
