I’ve published several poems over the years, many of which were written as responses to postings by, or comments of, various friends on WordPress. Here are a few examples…
Flying with you into dawn through fresh mountain air sounds like the dream I’d had since we met. Your pen projects poetry as the perfect place where freedom lives and love flourishes, without limit, under star filled skies.
Title of Post With Link: “Flashback to Winter” – * Poetess: (written by) Cindy Georgakas
Braving the storm for a captured shot, breathing steam of cream in my coffee, tracing steps where no one has trod this day. A bench for two warmed many times before, now blanketed by a white coat. I carve my name and yours marking the day with a snap shot in my mind and heart and now one I can share with the world as I click. I mark a time in history to come back to when the sun comes up melting memories to warm my soul and bring me close to you.
Title of Post With Link: “Fall Creek Falls” – ** Poetess: Sherry Lachelle
Like the natural beauty present each time you smile, dear Sherry, these ribbons of water dance in the wind, bending in curves which captivate.
An inherent beauty, the depth of which is beyond words, you’re truly one of a kind, dearest Annabel, who, through kindness and creativity, inspire my spirit, warm my heart, and blanket each day with joy.

Having read “Curves and Flows“, written by a very talented and lovely poetess hailing from Florida, my dear friend Holly Hunter – in which her flowing words paint an ethereal, romantic image – I was inspired to write this poem in response…
I arose to the aroma of a rose With her hair draped in my face – Holly in the House of Heart Flowing red, in silk and lace
Cascading streams of stardust Rained like water, heaven-sent Onto our bodies, soaking Reveling in loves ascent
To the moon, then back again Riding cosmic waves of bliss There’s really nothing better Than to share her scent and kiss
Having read “A Qualquer Altura” (Portuguese, meaning Anytime) by Carla Milho, a gifted writer, truly beautiful woman and dear friend – wherein she speaks of dreams, love and courage – I was inspired to write this poem in response…
She puts the poem in my pen And so, I’m at it again Sending song through my words to her heart
I hope one day she will find That we are two of a kind Hear my call Share her love Play a part
Over the passed few years, I’ve published several poems on my web site. Many are written in response to creative writings posted by friends, and, therein, are commonly entitled Poem in Response, or, Poem for a Friend.
However, I also oftentimes include poetry in my comments on other sites, in response to various posts of friends which I’ve enjoyed reading. As such, and without further adieu, here are a few samples which I’ve penned…
Interlaced with threads of sadness, where shadows fade into night like days of the future passed, blended with blues into a blur of yesteryear, this half empty outer world exists in stark contrast to the full beauty you exude, an inner glow of which can brighten every tomorrow.
This poem was written as a birthday gift for my dearest friend, Carla Milho, a beautiful lady and talented writer hailing from Lisbon, Portugal. Please visit her web site to wish her a Happy Birthday on this special day – thanks very much!
Frost the cake and add a candle to the dish It’s time to make a wish Another year is here
Sing the song we know with joy and warm delight We celebrate tonight Toasting you with good cheer
47!!!
Happy Birthday, Carla Let the good times flow Fun and friends who love you, don’t you know
Happiness, forever When you share a smile Days ahead grow brighter, all the while
This haiku was inspired by a lovely woman and good friend, Annabel. She’s a professional dancer & choreographer, and also a gifted poetess. I encourage guests to visit her web site to enjoy her creative writings – thanks very much!
She dances on clouds Melting snow from mountain peaks Cascading beauty
Many, many moons ago, I was playing poker after hours with friends at an Irish pub in Royal Oak, Michigan. That night, luck was on my side and I happened to win the first four games. So, to their dismay, I said farewell and skated – up $80.
Last evening, I watched Maverick (Mel Gibson, Jodi Foster, James Garner)…
This morning, I wrote this short poem…
We bet by chance On calling cards One night, at a bar, long ago
She played her hand – a suited flush All hearts, for a Queen, kneading dough
Time is precious It’s of the essence It’s here, then gone From adolescence
The time you have And the time you take The things you’ve done And the plans you make The sights you’ve seen Now a memory And what’s to come Yet a fantasy
Time marches on Though nary a sound Hands on the wall Each day spin around
Time is fleeting Take note and behold Lessons in life With age, growing old
Make your time count To be a good friend Share happiness And love to the end
